Engineered without posts, Astra relies on the strength of the panel itself. Each metal panel is a self-supporting structural element, mounted to the side of the building edge and free of the vertical rhythm that conventional railings impose.

Available in laser cut patterns and solid designs, Astra lets the surface do the work: controlling privacy, openness, and light while staying visually restrained. Finishes in galvanized steel, stainless steel, powder coating, and Corten steel allow the system to blend with the facade or stand out as a deliberate architectural feature.

FEATURES

 A Guardrail Without Posts

Conventional guardrails depend on a repeating series of posts. Astra removes them. The panel itself carries the load, so the railing reads as one uninterrupted surface along the edge of the building.

This keeps sightlines open, simplifies the visual language of balconies and terraces, and lets the pattern and finish of the metal take center stage. The result is a calmer, more architectural edge condition.

Discuss Astra for Your Project

 Side-Mounted by Design

Astra is a fascia-mounted system. Panels attach to the side of the slab or building edge rather than to the top surface. This keeps the walking surface clear and unobstructed, and it allows the guardrail to sit flush with the architecture.

Because Astra is designed exclusively for fascia mounting, it cannot be installed on top of the surface. Fascia conditions should be considered early in the design process so the mounting detail can be coordinated with the structure.

 Visible or Concealed Mounting

Every Astra installation can be detailed in one of two ways. The mount can remain visible as a deliberate, honest connection, or it can be concealed behind a facade material such as insulation or cladding for a seamless finish.

Concealing the mount lets the panel appear to emerge directly from the facade, with no visible hardware at the connection. This flexibility gives architects and builders control over how much of the system is expressed.

Astra attaches to the fascia using one of two mounting options. Both can be left exposed or concealed behind a facade material.

  • Fascia Mount A baseplate mount that fixes the panel to the face of the building edge. A straightforward, robust connection suited to a wide range of fascia conditions.
  • Fascia Stanchion Mount The Artico mount, our own mounting system. It provides a refined connection and is designed to integrate cleanly with facade materials such as insulation.
