SHIPPING POLICY: ARTICO METALS

At Artico Metals, we specialize in high-mass, architectural metalwork. Due to the extreme weight and specialized nature of our products, our shipping procedures differ significantly from standard parcel delivery. Please read these terms carefully before finalizing your order.

1. QUOTED SHIPPING & MANUAL INVOICING

All shipping is quoted manually via email (info@articometals.com).

  • Custom Logistics: Because our items are high-weight, we do not provide automated shipping rates. Costs are calculated based on freight class, weight, and the specific equipment required for delivery.

  • Payment: Shipping fees must be paid in full before the item is dispatched from our facility.

2. LTL FREIGHT & CURBSIDE DELIVERY ONLY

The majority of Artico Metals products are shipped via third-party LTL (Less Than Truckload) Freight Services.

  • Strictly Curbside: Due to the extreme weight of our products, delivery is strictly Curbside or Driveway only.

  • No "Backyard" or Inside Delivery: Drivers are not authorized-and often physically unable-to move items into backyards, up stairs, or inside buildings.

  • Customer Responsibility: Once the item is unloaded at the curb, all further movement or installation of the product is the sole responsibility (and at the risk) of the customer. We strongly recommend having professional installers or appropriate machinery (such as a forklift or pallet jack) ready for heavy items.

3. WHAT TO EXPECT ON DELIVERY DAY

  • Scheduling: The third-party carrier will contact you at the phone number provided to schedule a delivery window. You must be present to inspect and sign for the delivery.

  • Liftgate Service: Unless otherwise noted, we include "Liftgate Service," meaning the driver will use a hydraulic lift to lower the pallet from the truck to the ground.

  • Tracking: We will provide a Bill of Lading (BOL) or tracking number via email once the carrier collects the item.

4. GEOGRAPHIC RESTRICTIONS

Artico Metals currently does not ship to Alaska, Hawaii, or Puerto Rico. We only ship to the contiguous United States and international destinations by special quote.

5. RISK OF LOSS (FOB ORIGIN)

Legal title and "risk of loss" pass to the customer the moment the item is delivered to the third-party carrier. Artico Metals is not responsible for damages or delays caused by the carrier.

6. MANDATORY INSPECTION & DAMAGE REPORTING

Because our items are palletized and heavy, you must follow these steps to protect your purchase:

  1. Visual Inspection: Inspect the pallet and metalwork for any signs of transit damage before the driver leaves.

  2. Note on Delivery Slip: Any damage, no matter how small, must be written on the delivery receipt before you sign it.

  3. 24-Hour Notification: If damage is found, notify Artico Metals within 24 hours. If you sign the delivery slip without noting damage, the carrier will deny all future claims, and Artico Metals cannot be held liable.
