FAQ's

general questions
How do I start a custom project?
Begin with whatever best communicates the idea and the space. That may be a rough sketch, a reference image, a marked-up plan, a PDF, a DXF or DWG file, or a complete architectural drawing package.
You do not need finished technical drawings to begin the conversation. Our team reviews the design intent, dimensions, site conditions, intended use, and level of customisation, then identifies the information needed to move the concept toward a buildable metal system.
What information is most useful at the beginning?
The most useful starting information is the project location, approximate dimensions, intended application, reference images or drawings, preferred pattern or visual direction, material or colour preferences, and any known HOA, code, schedule, or site constraints.
Incomplete information is not a barrier to an initial review. The purpose of the first conversation is to understand the project and define the next practical steps.
Shipping & Returns
What Is Your Delivery Policy?
Shipping costs for Artico Metals products are calculated based on the total weight of the order and the final destination. Since we deal with heavy-duty metal components, we provide custom freight quotes for every project to ensure you receive the most competitive and accurate rates.
All orders are managed and dispatched from our facility in Middlesex, NJ. Our team oversees the logistics process to ensure your materials arrive safely and on schedule at your project site. Please note: We DO NOT ship to Alaska, Hawaii, or Puerto Rico.
How will my order be delivered, Standard Shipping or Freight Delivery?
Due to the weight and dimensions of our professional metal products, most orders are dispatched via specialized freight delivery. While smaller components may occasionally qualify for standard shipping, our priority is the safety of your materials. We partner with reliable freight carriers experienced in handling heavy, over-sized architectural elements. This ensures your order is transported with the necessary equipment and care to arrive at your site in perfect condition.
What to expect during freight delivery?
Freight delivery is different from standard parcel shipping. Your order will arrive on a large truck (LTL), and you are responsible for offloading the materials. Depending on the size of your panels, this may require a forklift or a team of people to manually unload. The carrier will contact you in advance to schedule a delivery window.
Upon arrival, it is essential to inspect the shipment for any damage before signing the Delivery Receipt (BOL), as your signature confirms the order arrived in good condition.
Do freight deliveries require someone to be present during delivery?
Yes, all freight deliveries require an authorized adult to be present at the time of arrival. You will need to inspect the shipment for any potential transit damage and sign the Delivery Receipt (BOL). This step is crucial for ensuring that your architectural elements have arrived in perfect condition and for validating any insurance claims with the carrier if necessary.
My house access is blocked with trees and I'm not sure if large trucks will be able to reach me, what do I do?
If your location has restricted access, such as low-hanging trees, narrow roads, or steep inclines, please notify us before placing your order. Since our products are delivered via large freight carriers, we need to coordinate with the logistics team to determine the best delivery solution. In some cases, we may need to arrange for a smaller box truck or a specific drop-off point to ensure your architectural elements reach you safely and without extra redelivery fees.
Will I get a tracking number?
Yes, all shipments include a tracking number or a Bill of Lading (BOL) number, whether they are sent as small packages or large freight pallets. This allows you to monitor your order’s progress directly through the carrier’s system. For local deliveries within our immediate service area, we often utilize our own dedicated drivers for same-day arrival; in these cases, our logistics team will coordinate the exact delivery window directly with you.
What carriers do you use?
We partner with industry-leading carriers to ensure safe and efficient delivery across the country. For smaller items, we typically use FedEx Ground or Express, while larger architectural elements and heavy-duty panels are shipped via specialized freight services such as FedEx LTL, T-Force Freight, and Daylight Transport. This multi-carrier approach allows us to choose the best option based on your specific order size and location.
Do you deliver on the weekends?
No, our deliveries are scheduled during standard business hours, Monday through Friday. We do not offer weekend delivery services at this time.
Can I specify an exact delivery date? We will have a crew on site, and will need to coordinate the delivery?
Absolutely. For all freight shipments, the carrier will contact you directly prior to delivery to schedule a specific date and time window that works for you. This allows you to coordinate with your on-site team for a smooth offloading and installation process.
What Is Your Return Policy?
The majority of our products are custom-made to order based on your specific dimensions and design requirements. Due to this personalized nature, custom-cut panels and perforated metal systems components are not eligible for return or exchange once production has begun. We encourage you to review your order specifications and design files carefully before final confirmation to ensure every detail of your project is correct.
For more details, please see our full Shipping & Refund policy.
My order arrived damaged, what should I do?
If you notice any visible damage to the packaging upon arrival, you must note the damage on the Delivery Receipt (BOL) before the driver leaves and take clear photos of the shipment as it arrived. Please also document the specific damage to the items themselves and contact us immediately. This documentation is essential for us to file a claim with the carrier and ensure we can provide a swift resolution or replacement for your project.

Our team will provide a specific estimated completion date as part of your initial quote to ensure your project stays on track.
